Flushing & Queens Local Movers

In-town Queens moves locked to a signed flat figure before the first box leaves the apartment

A two- or three-person uniformed crew, one binding number on paper before we lift anything, and a single hourly seven days a week across Flushing and greater Queens. Owned and run by Rafael Solano since 2013.

The name is my own — R. V. Solano — and I put those initials on the side of one truck back in 2013. Today RVS Moving & Delivery Service runs a yard full of them out of Kissena Boulevard, staffed start to finish by uniformed W-2 movers on our payroll. Nobody is pulled off a corner the morning of your job. Before we carry the first box down your stoop, you sign a binding flat figure in writing.

Two-mover crew or three?

Kevin Ng builds the day’s truck board, and here is roughly how he sizes it. A Corona one-bedroom or a Jackson Heights studio moves cleanly with two. Once we hit a Bayside house with a finished basement, or a prewar Forest Hills co-op where everything rides five flights down a narrow stairwell, Hector Peralta wants a third pair of hands so the load clears before the alternate-side window closes.

Team size Per hour Where it fits
Two movers + truck $155 Studios, one-bedrooms, elevator buildings
Three movers + truck $215 Walk-ups, houses, tight prewar stairwells

Billing opens at a one-hour minimum. Furniture blankets, dollies, and shrink-wrap are already folded into that hourly — you will never spot them as a separate line — and a Saturday job carries the identical rate as a Tuesday one.

What drives the number

Three things move the figure: how much is in the apartment, which floor it sits on, and whether a 26-footer can even park near your door. On plenty of Queens blocks the truck cannot, so we sort a double-park permit or a shuttle in advance. Grace Han books all of that before quote day.

The job Written flat rate
Studio, elevator building, Long Island City $430 – $590
1BR walk-up, Astoria or Jackson Heights $620 – $860
2BR prewar, no elevator, Forest Hills $1,050 – $1,440
3BR house, Bayside or Whitestone $1,510 – $2,050
Second stop to swing by a storage unit +$130 – $200 flat

The buildings we work every week

Queens is never one kind of move. The prewar blocks of Flushing and Astoria bring skinny stairwells, doorframes that have seen a century, and no elevator in sight. The glass towers rising over Long Island City hand you a freight elevator to reserve and a loading dock to time. Broadly, our crews live in:

  • Prewar walk-up brownstones and no-elevator buildings across Flushing, Astoria, and Jackson Heights
  • Corona, Elmhurst, and Jamaica apartments where the curb parking fills by morning
  • Detached houses through Bayside, Whitestone, and Fresh Meadows with driveways of their own
  • High-rise co-op units in Long Island City and Forest Hills that ask for freight-elevator windows

Alternate-side parking and a New York winter

July and August turn muggy fast, so Hector paces the crew and keeps a cooler on the truck. Come a snow week, alternate-side is suspended and salt covers the block — if the streets turn genuinely unsafe, Kevin slides your date and phones you himself before you ever wonder. Want a ballpark tonight? Punch the details into our instant estimate tool. Heading past state lines to Philly or Boston? Our long-distance moving page has the routes. Living on an upper floor? The apartment crew handles those buildings daily, and the whole team is introduced on the home page.

What the Flat Rate Already Covers

Each line below is part of every job as standard — none of it shows up as an extra charge when the final bill arrives.

  • Written binding figure, signed at your door, before a single box moves
  • Two-mover trucks at $155 an hour, three-mover trucks at $215, minimum one hour
  • Pads, hand trucks, and stretch-wrap that never show up as extra charges
  • A crew fluent in century-old stairwells and the borough's parking rules
  • Permit or shuttle sorted ahead of time wherever the block won't fit a big truck
  • The uniformed team you meet at pickup is the team waiting at drop-off
  • Optional coverage that lifts released value all the way to $1,000,000 a load
  • Nights and weekends priced no higher than any weekday slot

Common Questions

Are you a moving company?
Yes — RVS Moving & Delivery Service is a fully licensed and insured Flushing, NY moving company running our own trucks and uniformed crew, with New York State DOT authority plus US DOT and MC authority.
There's nowhere to park a truck on my block — how do you handle that?
Grace sorts it before move day. On tight Flushing and Astoria streets we line up a double-park permit or stage a smaller shuttle to ferry loads to the truck. Kevin also times the arrival around alternate-side so the crew isn't idling while a spot opens up.
My building is prewar with a narrow staircase and no elevator — will that raise the price?
No, the stairs are already inside the flat figure. When we scope the job we count the flights and measure the landings, so a five-story walk-up in Forest Hills is priced before we arrive. The staircase never becomes a move-day surprise.
Who shows up at my door — your own people or a crew hired that morning?
Our own W-2 movers, in RVS uniforms. I started this on one truck in 2013 and Kevin runs the board now, so the names on your job sheet are exactly who reaches your Flushing address. We do not use day-labor or last-minute fill-ins, ever.
How far ahead should I book a Queens move?
A week usually holds a good slot. Month-end and the first of the month go fastest, and summer stays packed, so once your date is firm, lock it with Grace two to three weeks out to secure the crew size you're after.
Which parts of Queens do your trucks cover?
The whole borough and the neighborhoods between. Our trucks run daily through Bayside, Fresh Meadows, Elmhurst, Corona, Jackson Heights, Astoria, Long Island City, Forest Hills, Jamaica, and Whitestone — Kevin keeps a board that spans all of them out of Flushing.
